I used to suffer from an overwhelming case of Foot-in-Mouth Disease. Afflicting the head and tongue, it manifests itself through a slowing of the brain functions and unhinged jaw, with side effects including closed eyes, bruised forehead, and a shrunken posture. It’s a plague, really.
Nowadays, I’ve found healing through naturally-occurring age and a larger set of responsibilities, and barely ever need to wash the taste of sweaty, dirty feet from between my molars. Though not entirely dormant; as sometimes happens, a new strain will infect me, and when it does, I attempt to learn from my mistakes and fight it off.
Many more people suffer in non-silence. Consult your dentist if you begin showing symptoms of Foot-in-Mouth Disease. It doesn’t have to control your life. Take back control, and stick your own feet in someone else’s mouth.
