swirls darkness under you?
What will or principalities
can govern over you?
What timeless oaths or ancient wars
would nations wage for you?
What fury, wrath, or majesty
holds power over you?
What sudden stillness would precede
a quiet word from you?
What, once all the kingdoms fell
And countries left for ruin and death
And people from the furthest realms
And life, all life, took its last breath
And wars were won in heaven and hell
And utter silence stayed the earth–
would bring such peace but you?
