Holy Crap

This is the most insane month of my life. I’ve never had this much change happening all around me all at once, and I’m still planning for more. Hannah and I have actually planned a lunch with Forrest Hobbs tomorrow in downtown L.A., which we’re both really looking forward to. We haven’t seen a familiar face in over a week, and it will be nice to spend time with an old friend again.

Here’s a quick run-down of everything I can think of, big to small:

  • Quit both our jobs
  • Sold all our furniture
  • Spent a 4-day vacation in Las Vegas, met tons of family
  • Packed our cars
  • Said goodbye to our friends and family
  • Drove both of our cars, packed to the ceilings, separately, from Raleigh, NC to Los Angeles, CA
  • Stayed at three separate AirBnB homes for three nights
  • Spent 4 days at the last home in L.A.
  • Went walking the day after arriving, found an apartment
  • Started both our jobs the next day (Hannah’s within walking distance, mine ~30 minutes away)
  • Moved into our apartment the second day
  • Bought a Casper mattress, arrived at the apartment 4 hours later
  • Carried about 800 lbs of stuff 600 ft down the road and up a flight of stairs, by ourselves
  • Now in the process of selling my car and downgrading to a one-vehicle family
  • Still need to buy an entire apartment’s worth of furniture
  • Finances need to be reviewed, big time
  • Oh man, insurance…
  • …medical…
  • …credit…
  • I’m drowning…
  • …blrbrblulublblurlbubbluub….
