This is the most insane month of my life. I’ve never had this much change happening all around me all at once, and I’m still planning for more. Hannah and I have actually planned a lunch with Forrest Hobbs tomorrow in downtown L.A., which we’re both really looking forward to. We haven’t seen a familiar face in over a week, and it will be nice to spend time with an old friend again.
Here’s a quick run-down of everything I can think of, big to small:
- Quit both our jobs
- Sold all our furniture
- Spent a 4-day vacation in Las Vegas, met tons of family
- Packed our cars
- Said goodbye to our friends and family
- Drove both of our cars, packed to the ceilings, separately, from Raleigh, NC to Los Angeles, CA
- Stayed at three separate AirBnB homes for three nights
- Spent 4 days at the last home in L.A.
- Went walking the day after arriving, found an apartment
- Started both our jobs the next day (Hannah’s within walking distance, mine ~30 minutes away)
- Moved into our apartment the second day
- Bought a Casper mattress, arrived at the apartment 4 hours later
- Carried about 800 lbs of stuff 600 ft down the road and up a flight of stairs, by ourselves
- Now in the process of selling my car and downgrading to a one-vehicle family
- Still need to buy an entire apartment’s worth of furniture
- Finances need to be reviewed, big time
- Oh man, insurance…
- …medical…
- …credit…
- I’m drowning…
- …blrbrblulublblurlbubbluub….
