So pretty regularly, about twice a year, I get sick with a cold or flu, and am down for the count for 2-3 days. It’s been this way since forever. I consider it routine, and no longer complain, since I’m normally healthy the other 359 days of the year. It’s a tax of sorts. Anyway, this week I’ve had the strangest cold, with a throat gucked up by phlegm and dried boogers, an uncharacteristic cough, and the sudden ability to begin choking at a moment’s notice on absolutely nothing at all. I find my body a fascinating and disturbing entity, one I should not trifle with, and a powerful force of chaos.
At least my toenails aren’t falling off. That would be worse.
