(This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /home1/chiment1/public_html/mattchimento-blog/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6114I’m beginning to realize that I have way too many opinions. Honestly, I don’t need all these opinions. I’d be better off without them.

Apparently, I’ve formed opinions on specific political figures and their shame, corporate work visa policies, job outsourcing, Google’s trustworthiness with your sensitive information, and Megan Fox’s unbelievably nasty thumbs. Since only one of those things actually applies to my own work and consulting, I’ll talk about this subject below. But damn, that’s still too many opinions.

So I’ve been on a serious personal computer recommendation kick recently. It’s a callback to my days working at Office Depot, except with less personal gain involved. Basically, I ask a few questions, and then make a recommendation based on operating system, power, size, and usage. And what I’ve been finding is that Google now has the easiest ecosystem to set up easily across your devices, and to keep secured according to the latest security best practices.

The downside to all this ease is the bad press Google has received in the past concerning privacy, information sharing, advertisement targeting, etc. It’s been the accepted belief that Google keeps all of your information, forever, and then eventually use it to train their secret robots to murder you specifically, or something similar. What people forget is that Google(or Alphabet now, I guess) is a publicly-held company whose sole purpose is to make money for its investors. And data is EXPENSIVE. The amount of digital storage space required to store millions of people’s information indefinitely is incalculable, and they’d rather charge you for it anyway. While I don’t necessarily take their “Do no evil” company buzzline at face value, I definitely don’t see the upside of turning their users into haters.

If you’re looking for a new computer, phone, digital home ecosystem, or anything else complicated and full of questions, send me a tweet and we’ll chat! If love to help you get your life running smoothly with the incredible technology we have at our disposal.
