It runs something like this: “Where is Christ?” It’s then followed by another distraction.

If you know me at all…I don’t think I’m ADD, but I’ve definitely got a problem doing something I don’t want to do – especially when I’m motivated to do something else. So when I’m stopped by the Holy Spirit and led to return my gaze off of what I’m so fixated on and back to my Savior…it’s hard. I won’t speak for anyone else, but I’m guessing it’s hard for lots of others too.

So I definitely admire those men and women who can constantly stay focused on Jesus through all this.

Rock Rockwell…I don’t know what I’d do without him. I mean, besides the fact that this is resulting mostly from him. But he can somehow stay on his path and return to Christ throughout the attacks, both personal and general (aimed at CHSF, the congregation, etc). Praise the Lord for him. That name is prophetic, lemme tell ya.

Michael Preston. He’s up in Mississippi, and I’m down in Central Florida, but he’s still one of my mentors, whether he likes it or not. And being torn between a church he loves, a woman he adores, and a God he must follow nonetheless must be distracting. He is another cornerstone, and for that I am thankful.

Mr. Segallis. Gosh, that man is amazing. I can’t name anyone else with a drive like his. He’s a lot like me, in some ways, because of his dedication to what he wants and his natural willingness to completely disregard any and all laws and rules in order to get it. And yet he continues to walk a Christ-centered life, and his self-control is admirable. He is a strong tower…right below Christ, of course.

Now when I’m distracted by my selfish whims, I have a few people to look up to and follow. Standing on the shoulders of giants, I suppose. And watching others stray isn’t any fun at all. Are they putting their faith in shepherds that are unreliable? I hope not.

But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.
