   So I bet you can’t guess what’s gaped open in front of me right now.<\/p>\n

   Yeah. Life is full of them, I hear. They open like wormholes and suck you right in. Then they do a number on your brain cell count, test your patience to no end, and spit you back out, more confused and disoriented than ever. Apparently, the only way we’ve ever gotten around them is through intense concentration and never-ending trips to theme parks.<\/p>\n

   Of course, since I have neither the money for theme parks, nor the time to wait in line for hours, I must be patient in my own void. And what is this void?<\/p>\n

   This is the darkness that has appeared and looms above December 15th. Why December 15th? Because it’s a month from my 20th birthday, it’s ten days from Christmas, and it’s the end of my final semester at BCC. Yeah. I know it’s happening. In fact, it’s the only<\/i> thing I know is happening at the moment. Because after December 15th, anything might happen.<\/p>\n

   Now sure, I have plans. I plan to go to UCF for two years, enrolled in my major, and graduate with my Bachelor’s, and start a company. I plan to rent an apartment with my friend, live there until I have enough money, and then travel for a semester or so. After that, I expect to encounter another void.<\/p>\n

   In case you weren’t reading, I’ll point something out. In the above paragraph, there are exactly 8 uses of a first-person reference. “I”. “My”. Seemingly, this entire plan- faults, triumphs, mistakes, blessings, miracles, curses and all- is about me. And where is God in all this? Left behind in the dust, waiting for me to come running back bruised and scared, and ask for forgiveness. Yeah, it’ll be a long three years.<\/p>\n

   But I’m looking forward to it. It will be a challenge. And with my God with me, I will overcome.<\/p>\n

   So I invite you to raise your glasses, and speak a toast to Voids with me.<\/p>\n
