I was gonna write a poem
\nBut I wound up shuffling words
\nUntil, my train of thought, t’was disappeared.
\nIt would have been a piece
\nAbout what irks me most
\nBut instead, began to rhyme of what I feared.<\/p>\n

Since that would never do
\nI started to eschew
\nContemplating var’ous rhythms in my head.
\nThose turned into a song
\nWhich became a little long
\nQuickly running off, and soon, was dead.<\/p>\n

I was gonna write a book
\nJust a lovely little trip
\nFull of references and galleries to me.
\nBut I realized, by and by
\nThat no one wants to read
\nAbout the life of one whose tale’s still happening.<\/p>\n

Besides, the pride of one who does
\nHas, if laughingly, begun
\nTo tow’r above the arrogance of most.
\nShould I be seated low
\nQuite content to make no show
\nAnd, humbly, let the loudest make their boast?<\/p>\n

I was gonna write a film
\nWhich, when watched, would break the heart
\nCause the tears to come a’spilling from each eye.
\nThis, in turn, gave me a thought
\nAnd I quickly turned away
\nLeaving scripts and songs to rest, unsatisfied.<\/p>\n

If I was set to cry
\nAbout the narrowest of things
\nBreaking hearts to get emotions off my chest
\nI would rather waste my time
\nSetting random thoughts to rhyme
