I’ve jumped directly into the fire, entirely headfirst, at the VEDC, and am discovering very quickly that once I learn how the system there works, I’ll be able to build a marketing strategy fairly easily. In fact, along with my boss, an entire year’s worth of content can be planned out and scheduled in the space of several weeks. It’s really exciting to see Hootsuite and ConstantContact being used properly and for a singular cause.
But more importantly, working for a non-profit is exactly where I want to be right now. The team morale and drive to accomplish better and better work is what I need to encourage creativity, strategy, and my own happiness. It helps that the people we work for are happier because of us.
The point I want to make is this: Work hard enough, for a cause you believe, and everything you need is only a frame of mind away. Keep pushing forward. Try everything. Let it go. Disney mantras.
